Harry Vagrant is a theologian, researcher of religions, traveler, writer, journalist, as well as a musician.
Harry has visited at least twenty-six countries and plays a variety of exotic instruments that he picked up while traveling. At the ”Būtība” festival, Harry will perform with the meditative Rav/Handpan and Ney flutes played by Turkish mystic Sufis, as well as the special and unusual Persian instrument persian Santur. Indian Shruti box will be played by Alina Louise Jautaka.
Harry improved his musical skills in the Balkans, Turkey – Istanbul, and also studied Ottoman classical music theory in Rhodes, Greece.
With his meditative performances, Harry has performed for several years at many different events and venues both in Latvia and abroad: including “Jomas Street Festival”, festival “Būtība”, “Cesarhof” festival in France, Baltic autumn fire festival ”Uguns nakts Vienkoču parkā”, “White Nights” festival in Riga, ecstatic dance and contact-dance workshops, Solstice Yoga Festival, world music nights in Karksi-Nuia, Estonia, as well as within the framework of various ritual and meditation programs.

Harry has written several books. First book – “Diary of a Street Musician” – tells about traveling and was published in 2017 by publishing house “Mansards”. In December 2023, publishing house “Zvaigzne ABC” published Harry Vagrant’s second book on traveling, “The Wicked Adventures of the Crazy Backpacker”, while in the winter of 2024, “Zvaigzne ABC” published Harry Vagrant’s book on near-death experiences, “Beyond Death. Near-death experiences in modern Latvia”.
